Machined component:
The assembled component is the camshaft with adjustable cam-position, and the stations must process various types.
Activities at the assembly stations:
- The operator moves the piece between stations, otherwise, the assembly is automatic.
- Piece recognition is code-supported, with automatic type changes.
- Split bushings are pressed into the shaft.
- After lubrication, balls and springs are installed, then the cams are pulled onto the shaft.
- Finally, it tests the force required for pulling the cams over the balls.
- For some types, a signal disc is cold pressed on.
- A significant challenge during the task was pulling the cams onto the shaft without damaging the latter.
